Rajiv Gandhi Samajkarya Mahavidyalaya is established in 1993 affiliated to Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University and duely recognized by the Department of Social Justice, Government of Maharashtra. The college is located at Gondia District, Which is declared as Naxalite area by Government of Maharashtra. Being in a Rural area, college brings awareness of education for the first generation students.
The BSW course aims to prepare gross-root level workers for direct service delivery. The basic objective of the MSW course is to prepare field-level functionaries for most specialized services regarding a higher degree of knowledge, skill, and professional attitudes. The College encourages the students to establish their own organizations at their native place and work for their native place. The college also builds the confidence among youth to achieve holistic development & growth, to develop acceptance of humanism and progressivism with sensitivity and to motivate students for bearing their responsibilities towards the nation, and to develop leadership among them. The College has been taking special efforts about health awareness in the locality where the college is located and arranged a mass-level health checkup camp on the occasion of Founder's Day. While following the great ideology of Bharat Ratna Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar we arranged Samata Parva and conduct various social activities in the society like the Sanitation program in the Dalit community, Essay Competition, Poster Competition, Quiz contest Dnyanwardhini Pariksha on Dr. Ambedkar thoughts, and constitution.
